Jake McVey is the Founder and Designated Managing Broker of 1 Percent Lists Homegrown Realty. A third-generation, lifelong resident of Bolingbrook, Jake has built his career around serving the community he knows best. His deep local knowledge comes not just from selling real estate, but from a lifetime of involvement in the area — from attending local schools in Valley View School District, to serving on the Village of Bolingbrook Historic Preservation Commission, to currently serving on the Bolingbrook Park District Board of Commissioners.

Jake believes real estate should be transparent, straightforward, and centered on what is truly best for the client. That belief is what led him to open 1 Percent Lists Homegrown Realty: a full-service brokerage designed to challenge the traditional commission model by offering a fair 1% listing fee without sacrificing professional marketing, strong negotiation, honest guidance, or the level of service clients deserve. His mission is simple — help homeowners keep more of what they’ve earned while still receiving full-service representation.

In addition to helping buyers and sellers, Jake is also an experienced real estate investor. He owns a successful rental property, has flipped multiple homes, and has helped clients and investors with a wide variety of properties and strategies, including rentals, fix-and-flips, house hacks, multi-unit buildings, vacant land, and more. That hands-on investment experience gives him a practical perspective that benefits both traditional clients and investors alike.

Jake’s background also includes extensive marketing experience across small businesses, sporting events, fundraisers, corporations, and professional athletes. He holds a degree in Public Administration from Lewis University, is an Eagle Scout, and earned a Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate. His marketing knowledge and comfort with modern technology help him position homes effectively while making the buying and selling process more convenient for clients.
